KNOBLACH RADIO AD RESPONSE ON DFL GUN AD

Announcer:  “Here is Jim Knoblach to respond to recent misleading ads.”

Knoblach:  “Recent ads say I voted to quote cut battered women’s shelters.  But this 2003 vote was on the entire state public safety budget, of which shelter funding was a tiny part.  I voted for this massive bill because it cracked down on meth labs and human trafficking.

The ads say I allowed quote convicted abusers to possess assault weapons.  Wrong.  I voted with the support of some women’s groups to allow the judge to decide how long an abuser would lose his firearms, instead of a flat ten year sentence, because more than ten years might be right.

The ads say I voted against quote reasonable criminal background checks.  But the amendment I voted against could have even required a criminal background check to lend a hunting gun to your nephew for an afternoon.   This is unreasonable.”

Announcer:  “Go to jimknoblach.com, if you have questions.  Jim’s opponent, Zach Dorholt, should denounce these misleading ads.”

John Sanner

Announcer:  “Vote Jim Knoblach for State Representative.”

“This is Stearns County Sheriff John Sanner.  For years I’ve said that public safety is too darn important to leave up to politics.  What I mean is that public safety officials routinely work across the aisle with both state and federal elected officeholders to improve the services that we provide.  That was my experience working with State Representative Jim Knoblach.  Jim authored legislation that brought the 800 Mhz interoperable emergency radio system to Central Minnesota.  That radio system is one of the most significant advancements to public safety technology in my 32 year law enforcement career.”

Announcer:  “Jim Knoblach is also supported by the Minnesota Police Fraternal Association, the Minnesota State Patrol Troopers Association, and Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis.  He is also supported by the Minnesota Professional Firefighters.

On November 8, vote Jim Knoblach for State Representative.  Experienced, independent leadership you can trust.”

Vote Jim Knoblach for State Representative.

“My name is Steve Wenzel.  I am a college instructor.  I also served 28 years as a Democrat legislator from Little Falls.  But I am supporting Republican Jim Knoblach.

Jim is an independent thinker, and a hard worker who gets things done for Central Minnesota.    He is respected by both Democrat and Republican legislators.  I know Democrats who hope Jim will be re-elected because he is a bridge to accomplishing things in Saint Paul.   Jim is also a great supporter of higher education. Please join me in supporting Jim Knoblach.”

The Pioneer Press named Knoblach the most independent Republican in the Minnesota House.  His opponent, Zach Dorholt, voted for 470 out of the 470 bills that passed the DFL controlled House during his term in office.  Only one other person did that.  Dorholt had a 100% partisan voting record.

Vote for Jim Knoblach, who votes to represent (pause) us.

30 second version A

Our own Jim Knoblach authored the most significant bill that passed the Legislature this year.  Jim Knoblach’s budget bill was the only major finance bill that passed and became law.  With lots of benefits for our area, like eliminating the state income tax on veteran’s retirement pay.  Two million dollars in additional education funding for District 742.  Saving good jobs in Cold Spring through a law change accessing more water.

Let’s keep Jim Knoblach working for us.  Vote Jim Knoblach.

Announcer:  “Vote for Jim Knoblach, Our State Representative.”

Joanne Benson:  “My name is Joanne Benson.  I was a teacher, Saint Cloud State Senator, and Lieutenant Governor.  I know it’s tougher and tougher to get things done at the Legislature.  That’s why I’m so impressed with the work Jim Knoblach has done these past two years.  Jim was the Chief House author of this year’s budget bill, the only major bill that passed and became law.  Early childhood funding for our schools, tax breaks for veterans, a college tuition freeze, and saving area jobs are among many things Jim accomplished for us.  Jim has a demonstrated record of working with all sides to get things done.  We need to keep these skills in Saint Paul.

Announcer:  “The Pioneer Press rated Jim Knoblach as being the most independent Republican in the Minnesota House.  If you want someone who can work with both sides, who has a record of accomplishment, and will stand up to special interests the choice is clear.  Vote Jim Knoblach for State Representative.”
